Cabo San Lucas fishing charter FAQ

Our inshore 25ft Panga starts at $700 per trip, offshore sportfishers start at $1,500, and luxury yacht charters start at $3,000+ for a full day. Every boat page lists its own rate, and there are no hidden fees — top-of-the-line tackle and two fishing licenses are included. Additional licenses are $25 each, and multi-day discounts are available.

Each charter includes: live bait, fishing tackle and rods, drinks — water, beer, gatorade, ice and fresh food options, licensed captain and mate, fish cleaning at the dock. Tackle, rods and terminal gear are all top-of-the-line, and the crew handles rigging, bait and fish cleaning at the dock.

Yes — everyone fishing aboard needs a Mexican sportfishing license. Two licenses are already included in your charter price, and extra licenses are $25 each. We take care of the paperwork before you board; just send us the names of your anglers.

Cabo fishes year-round. Striped marlin bite all season, with the best multi-fish days from November through March. Blue and black marlin, yellowfin tuna, dorado and wahoo peak from June through November. Roosterfish along the beaches are strongest from April through September.

Inshore trips run about 6 hours, standard offshore trips run 8 hours, and full-day offshore trips run 10 hours. Overnight and multi-day expeditions to Magdalena Bay, the East Cape and La Paz are available on our larger boats.

Most boats leave the Cabo San Lucas marina between 6:00 and 7:00 AM, when the bite is best. We will confirm your exact meeting time and dock location by WhatsApp or email the day before your trip.

The 25ft Panga takes 1–3 anglers, our 28ft to 35ft boats take up to 6, and the larger sportfishers and yachts comfortably carry larger groups and families. Non-fishing guests are welcome on the bigger boats.

Sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, a light long-sleeve shirt, a camera and your ID. We supply rods, tackle, bait, ice, water, beer and Gatorade. Bring any personal medication, and cash if you would like to tip the crew.

Yes — edible species like tuna, dorado and wahoo are cleaned, filleted and bagged at the dock, and local restaurants will cook your catch for you. Marlin, sailfish and roosterfish are tag-and-release on our boats to protect the fishery.

Always for billfish and roosterfish. Our crews are trained in careful handling, quick hook removal and reviving fish boatside so they swim away strong — it is where our name comes from.

Absolutely. Our mates rig everything, teach the drill and stay hands-on the whole trip. Inshore panga and 28ft center-console trips are the easiest introduction for kids and beginners because the ride is shorter and the action is steady.

Take a non-drowsy motion-sickness tablet the night before and again an hour before departure. Larger boats ride softer, and inshore trips stay in calmer water close to the beach if the swell picks up.

Safety comes first. If the port closes or conditions are unsafe, we reschedule your trip or refund your deposit. Light wind and chop are normal and rarely stop a good day of fishing.

Send us your dates through the booking form, by WhatsApp or by phone. We confirm boat availability, hold your date with a deposit, and the balance is paid at the dock on the day of your trip. We are happy to build multi-day packages for groups.

Yes. Let us know where you are staying in Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo and we can arrange transportation to the marina, along with fish-cleaning, restaurant drop-off and smoking or vacuum-packing your catch.

Fly into San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD). It is the main airport serving Los Cabos, about 45 minutes from the Cabo San Lucas marina where our boats leave from. We can arrange your airport transfer and your ride to the dock on fishing days.

Yes — we can assist you with accommodations. Tell us your dates, group size and budget and we will help you find a hotel, condo or villa close to the marina so your early departures are easy.

In winter a windbreaker is plenty — the coolest it gets is around 68°F. In summer wear light, comfortable clothing because it is hot, and bring a hat, sunglasses and sunblock. Non-marking closed shoes or boat shoes are best on deck, and a light long-sleeve shirt keeps the sun off during long runs.

Yes. Our captains and mates speak English, and our office answers in English or Spanish by WhatsApp, phone or email.

Tipping is customary and always appreciated. Most guests tip 15–20% of the charter price, given in cash to the captain at the dock and split with the mate.

Yes. We include drinking water, ice, beers, Gatorades and burritos or sandwiches. You are also welcome to bring any extra food or drinks you would like aboard.

Yes, we run trips 365 days a year, weather permitting — including Christmas, New Year and Semana Santa. Holiday weeks book out early, so reserve as far ahead as you can.

Two to four weeks is comfortable for most dates. For peak tournament season (October–November), Christmas, New Year, spring break and Thanksgiving, book two to three months out to get the boat you want.

If the port closes or the captain calls the day unsafe, you get a reschedule or a full deposit refund. Guest cancellations made well ahead of the trip can usually be moved to another date — contact us as soon as your plans change and we will work with you.
